TIDYMIN IV 7% Essential Amino Acids (EAA)

TIDYMIN IV is a clear solution of 7% Essential Amino Acids (EAA) for IV administration. Administration of Tidymin IV to uremic patients results in the utilization of retained urea in protein synthesis. As a result, BUN levels may decrease and many symptoms of azotemia may resolve. EAA solutions significantly improves survival.

COMPOSITION:

Amino Acid 7% (W/V) Injection 250 mL

MODE OF ACTION:

Essential amino acids helps in protein synthesis in body by their individual mechanism of action.

INDICATIONS

TIDYMIN IV 7% is highly appreciated as a parenteral nutrition supplement in the following conditions:
• Acute and chronic renal insufficiency in haemofiltration, peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis.
• For the compensation of amino acid losses during and after dialysis or haemofiltration.
• Renal failure following polytrauma, extensive surgery and sepsis.
• Supplementing a low protein diet in chronic renal failure patients.

DOSAGE

Recommended daily dosage: Upto 0.5 g of amino acids/kg body weight/day in acute and chronic renal insufficient patient not treated by dialysis. Upto 1 g of amino acids/kg body weight/day in patient treated by haemodialysis, hemofiltration or peritoneal dialysis. Dosage should be adjusted according to amino acid requirements depending upon age, body weight and condition of patients. Adequate calories should be administered simultaneously either orally or parenterally.

INFUSION RATE: Tidymin IV 7% infusion rate should not exceed 20 drops/minute.

ADMINISTRATION: TIDYMIN IV 7% is available as a sterile, non-pyrogenic single dose container that can be administered through peripheral veins or by central venous route using non-pyrogenic I.V. administration set with aseptic technique.
