Febudim Febuxostat 40 mg Tablets

FEBUDIM is used to lower uric acid levels in people with gout. FEBUDIM works by reducing the amount of uric acid made by the body. Increased uric acid levels can cause gout. FEBUDIM inhibits conversion of hypoxanthine to xanthine to uric acid; at therapeutic dosages, decreases production of uric acid without disrupting synthesis of vital purines and pyrimidines.

Febuxostat 40 mg Tablets

MODE OF ACTION:

Febuxostat works by reducing the amount of uric acid made by the body. Xanthine oxidase inhibitor; inhibits conversion of hypoxanthine to xanthine to uric acid; at therapeutic dosages, decreases production of uric acid without disrupting synthesis of vital purines and pyrimidines.

INDICATIONS

Febuxostat is used to lower uric acid levels in people with gout. Long-term treatment of high blood uric acid levels or hyperuricemia in patients with gout.

DOSAGE

40 mg by mouth once daily. Two weeks after initiation, if serum uric acid levels are not below 6 mg/dL, the dose can be increased to 80 mg daily.. Febudim ER can be taken with or without food.
Renal Impairment: Mild to moderate impairment (CrCl 30 to 89 mL/minute): No dosage adjustment necessary.

STORAGE

Store at room temperature not exceeding 30ᵒC.
